Reporting a kill
Whenever you witness a assassination (whether successful or not) you must report it to the Umpire. You should create your report using the "report assassination" form.
In the report you should provide a description in detail what happened. Also mention in your report if there were any witnesses; these could be civilians or dead/living assassins.
(Kudos and awards can be gained from well documented kills, and good story telling; though enhancing the truth is frowned upon and may lose you points if done excessively!)
Report kills or attempted kills by using the report assassination form or by emailing [email protected]
Self-Defence
Assassins can kill another Assassin in self-defence without punishment if the victim is openly bearing weapons.Tricking an assassin into bearing weapons so you can kill them is against the rules and will be penalized against!
If you witness the assassination of another player and the attacker is still bearing weapons you are permitted to kill them in self-defence. If however the attacker then withdraws or discards his weapon there is no longer justification to perceive them as a threat.
Players can claim "self defence" in any attack that they report. If The Umpire is convinced that the attack was justified then it can go without punishment. If however your attack is deemed unnecessary then that player risks being placed on the wanted list, or possibly penalized in other ways. Because of this it is strongly advised that you contact The Umpire before premeditatively attacking any players that you don't have a writ for.
If you believe you know who your assassin is then you can choose to attack them in self defence before they attack first. If however you get the wrong person you risk harsh punishments. It is not worth the risk unless you are completely sure.
If you are attacked by a group of players you are able to kill the entire group in self defence. Do however ensure that you are only killing those who were planning on attacking you, as opposed to innocent bystanders.
All assassinations, failed attempts, or self defence attack should be reported by everyone involved, including witnesses and victims.
Scoring
For every successful kill the assassin will receive one point. These points will be added up and will determine who ultimately wins the game.
In addition to normal points for kills there are also thug points and police points. These points are separate to normal points for kills and are there simply to give police and thugs motivation to chase after their targets.
As well as points, players can also earn Kudos for their kills amongst other activities. Kudos can be awarded even after death, and can be spent in the Kudos store. Players however can only use the Kudos store if they are currently acting as living assassins. Kudos can be carried over from previous games provided that you sign up with the same email address.
For more information on Kudos and the Kudos stores lookup "rules>other rules>Kudos and the Kudos store".
