Kudos and the Kudos Store
Kudos is basically a currency within the game which is used as an incentive for assassins to kill their victims in more imaginative ways. e.g. stabbing your victim with a knife might earn you 100 Kudos, however killing them with poison might earn you 200 Kudos.
- You will earn extra Kudos for well written reports, photographic evidence, videos, and the uniqueness of the kill. The overall amount of Kudos earned will be at the discretion of the Umpire.
- Kudos can be earned by assassins, the police and thugs. Assassins are likely to earn Kudos in higher quantities.
- Kudos can be spent in the Kudos store to buy new abilities and items which are otherwise banned from use (usually because they are overpowered).
- Kudos can be carried over from one game to the next; players who have won awards in previous games might also receive Kudos at the start of the next game. They will be informed about this by email at the start of the game.
- In order to ensure that players remain anonymous, the amount of Kudos that each player has will not be published on this website. However the amount of Kudos you own will be shown at the bottom of the emails containing your writs. If you are unsure about how much kudos you own then just ask the Umpire.
- Items purchased in the Kudos store belong to the specific assassin that purcased them. Items therefore can not be given away to other players without speaking to the Umpire.
Items can be "loaned" to other players, but only for a short term basis and provided the assassin that the item belongs to is in the same area. e.g. you can throw someone your large shield, however you can't let them walk off on their own holding it. This is to prevent multiple players whipping out the same item and then claiming it was loaned by an assassin.
If this feature is abused then the rules will be changed to disallow loaning of any item.
- Items purchased from the potions store can be taken by other players provided that the original assassin that bought the potion provided that they are in the location when it is used/consumed.
The scoring for Kudos is ultimately up to the Umpire. In general a normal kill will only achieve 100 Kudos, 75 Kudos for a well written report, 150 Kudos for a photo of the kill and so on.
The initially low 100 Kudos awards is because the purpose of Kudos is to encourage more interesting assassinations from players. It is also to encourage them to take photos, videos, and write more interesting reports.
