About Us
“Assassins” is a game of mock assassination for a medium to large number of players. The object of the game is to track down and eliminate the other players using a variety of methods while trying to avoid elimination yourself. The game is one of stealth and subterfuge, anyone not playing the game shouldn't even realise it is taking place.
The ‘winner’ of the game is whoever is left alive at the end with the most kills. Awards are up for grabs for interesting and skilled kills, as well as winning and scoring highly (Awards are in the form of Kudos and bragging rights).
Do your best, but have fun. Please be friendly to other Players you meet during the game, even if they may be trying to kill you.
If you have read the rules but are still confused then The Umpire will be happy to answer any questions.

How do I play?
- Read at least the basic rules
- Signup and wait for the game to start
- When the game starts you will receive an email containing 3 names and addresses aka writs. These are your writs and you must kill using methods described in the rules.
- If you wish to use a weapon not described in the rules then contact The Umpire using the blueprints form.
- Whenever you even attempt to assassinate your target you must submit a report. If you are killed you must also report it. This can be done using the "Report Assassination" form. You should also report the sending of poisoned letters, setting up of traps or any other activities; even if you don't know if they are successful.
- When your target is eliminated, the Umpire will send you a new target.
- You must be active within the game. Inactive players will be placed on the wanted list after one week and removed from the game after two. If you wish to leave the game early or are too busy then please contact The Umpire.
- Once dead you may rejoin the game as a member of the police force or as a thug (See Police rules). To do so, ask the umpire via email or mention it when you report your own death.
- If you are the last remaining Assassin, congratulations! You are declared the winner.
Who can play?
The game is open to people who live and spend a large proportion of their time within 5 miles of Stafford town centre and in an environment compatible with the nature of the game. Students at the University are almost certainly eligible to play; those who are unsure whether they live and work closely enough to participate should contact the Umpire.
It is strongly advised that you inform any house mates that you are playing the game. This eliminates the possibility of alarming them should any players visit the address.
If there is any reason why you feel you may not qualify to play I suggest you contact the Umpire before giving up. The game is quite flexible and provided you will be able to attack other assassin, and that other assassins will be able to attack you there might not be an issue.
